E-BOOKS PROGRAM

The E-Books program is a FREE school program that uses literature to support Holocaust, Human Rights, and Character education in K-12 classrooms.

Our elementary, middle, and high school collections explore the history of the Holocaust and human rights while supporting leadership and Upstander behavior on school campuses. Each E-Books collection features picture books, novels, diaries, poetry, graphic novels, and memoirs with supplemental lesson plans and curriculum to accompany the titles.

Teachers can borrow class sets of E-Books for FREE for up to 3 weeks. Teachers and students can access the title(s) digitally on personal electronic devices. Additionally, students will have access to the entire HMH Boniuk Library catalogue and can borrow extra titles from our Library at no extra cost.

What’s included in the E-Books Collection?

  • A curated collection of titles available digitally
  • Curriculum guides and lesson plans to support reading and learning
  • Two iBooks created by Holocaust Museum Houston (Power and Possibility and Life: Survivor Portraits)

How can my students get to these books?

  • Register with the Education Department
  • Distribute User IDs to your students
  • Show them which collection or title(s) you want them to access
  • Students can read the title(s) on personal electronic devices such as desktops, laptops, tablets, and smart phones
  • Students can borrow additional titles from the Museum’s Library for FREE
  • Device lending is available through the Museum’s DCT program
