- Museum staff, members, docents, and volunteers on “current” status are allowed borrowing privileges of circulating materials. Archival materials do not circulate, nor do items in the Reference, Special or Oral History collections. Become a Member today! Educators and students can become a member at a reduced rate.
- Food, drink, and tobacco are not permitted in the reading room. Staff and volunteers may have sealable drinks at the circulation desk.
- Mobile phones should be silenced, if a patron needs to make a phone call, one should step outside the library.
- Photography is permitted but should not use flash. Patrons who wish to photograph books or materials must do so with permission or within the definitions of fair use or of items in public domain.
- It is understood that any person who copies materials from the Boniuk Library assumes any liability for possible copyright infringement.
- The circulation period is three weeks for books and one week for DVDs, BluRay, CDs or other media. A maximum of five items may be checked out at one time. A maximum of two audiovisual items may be checked out at one time.
- Each borrower is financially responsible for the timely return of all borrowed materials. A fine of $0.25 per day will be charged for books and $1.00 per day for audiovisual materials.
- Computers in the research center are to be used for museum business or research purposes only. General internet use, games, e-mail, chat and other unrelated activities are not allowed.
- If materials are lost or damaged, patrons are responsible for replacement charges, plus a $10.00 processing fee.
- Minors should be accompanied and supervised by a parent or guardian at all times. The Holocaust Museum Houston is not responsible for the book selections or internet activities of unsupervised minors.
