Friends of Boniuk Library

The Friends of the Boniuk Library is a group of Museum Members who wish to enhance the Library’s services and effectiveness in building a community of readers and a collection of significance. Funds raised by joining the Friends of the Boniuk Library advance the library’s role in meeting the mission and goals of Holocaust Museum Houston.

From exclusive members only events to supporting learning activities, the Friends of the Boniuk Library are involved in many ways.

Events and Activities
The Friends of Boniuk Library host a monthly Breakfast Book Club, an annual children’s event, and more.

Breakfast Book Club
The Book Club meets monthly to discuss fiction and nonfiction related to the Holocaust and human rights. Stay tuned for this year’s selections and meeting dates.

Let’s Be Friends!
Let’s Be Friends is an annual children’s program incorporating crafts, stories, and writing activities. Appropriate for children of all ages, the activities and stories focus on kindness and friendship. Writing activities are presented by local authors through Writers in the Schools (WITS).

Children’s Book Drive
The Boniuk Library at Holocaust Museum Houston provides fiction and nonfiction materials for children of all ages. For young children, the library features a selection of books related to kindness and acceptance. Middle grade and teen books delve into the history of the Holocaust and human rights and continue to teach the importance of acceptance among peers.

The Friends of Boniuk Library need your help to increase and improve the Library’s Juvenile Collection. Here are two ways to help out:

  • Purchase a book from our Amazon Children’s Book Wish List.
  • Make a donation to the Friends of Boniuk Library, and your contribution will go directly to the Boniuk Library’s Juvenile Collection.

Become a Friend
The Friends of Boniuk Library is a Holocaust Museum Houston Affinity Group and can be joined with your Museum membership. Friends of Boniuk Library members receive personalized bookplates in a new Library acquisition to commemorate themselves or a loved one for years to come.

Membership Benefits
Borrowing from the Boniuk Library is included in Holocaust Museum General membership. Use your Museum Membership ID to borrow books, DVD, and more.
