TOUR GUIDELINES
Guided tours are led by trained docents and last approximately 1 hour. Holocaust Museum Houston requires one adult chaperone for every fifteen youths or students under the age of 18.
Chaperones are requested to keep students together and under supervision at all times. Chaperones should make sure students are quiet and respectful, with no running or shouting. Contact tours@hmh.org for info about school tours.
Please arrive approximately five minutes before the time of your tour. Notify us if you are running late. Late arrival may result in a shortened tour due to the number of other groups in our Museum.
Upon arriving and before unloading the buses, the group leader must check in at the lobby desk with an accurate number of participants: students, teachers, and other chaperones. A docent or member of the Museum staff will assist in organizing the groups and getting the tour started.
Food and drink are not allowed in the galleries. Outside food or sack lunches may not be brought into the building.

PHOTOGRAPHY GUIDELINES
Personal Use Photography in Gallery & Public Spaces
No photography is allowed in the first floor galleries unless
otherwise stated.
Photography with NO FLASH is authorized throughout the second floor.
Holocaust Museum Houston reserves the right to prohibit photography in any area at any time. Failure to adhere to guidelines or staff direction may result in being asked to cease activities and leave the premises.

Access to and use of all text, artwork, photographs and other files published on this Web site are subject to the following policies. HMH respects the privacy and personal information of its members. - Information HMH.org gathers and tracks
HMH.org gathers two types of information about users: data that users provide through mandatory, voluntary registration (for purchasing tickets, goods and services from HMH.org); and aggregated tracking information derived mainly by tallying page views throughout our site. Such information enables us to better tailor our content to users’ needs and to help our managers better understand the demographics of our audience. HMH.org offers free, voluntary registration to users. By registering, users gain access to the HMH e-commerce applications and may then buy the goods and services offered at HMH.org. HMH.org offers interactive polls to users so they can easily share their opinions with other users and see what the HMH.org audience thinks about important issues. HMH.org uses a system to “tag” users after they have voted, so they can vote only once on a particular question. This tag is not correlated with information about individual users. - Surveys
Occasionally, HMH.org conducts user surveys to better target our application demonstrations and content to our audience. We may share the aggregated usability information in these surveys with our partners. We never share any information about specific individuals with any third party. - Usage tracking
HMH.org tracks user traffic patterns. However, we do not correlate this information with data about individual users. Formats
HMH can provide most images as digital files for certain uses. Slides are provided for personal or scholarly use only; reproductions are not permitted from this medium. All works must be presented in their entirety without cropping or overprinting, unless prior written approval is obtained from HMH.
Requests for Images
All requests must be made in writing by e-mail to info@hmh.org. Please specify the nature of the project and include all details of proposed use. For a book, please include print run, publication date, title, author, and languages in which the book will appear. Also indicate where in the publication the image will appear (e.g., cover, interior pages, back cover). For all other requests, please provide as much detailed information as possible concerning the image. Useful information includes artist, title, date, medium and HMH accession number, if known.
If no photography exists for the image you request, we may be able to photograph the object for an additional fee.
Payment
Upon receipt of your request, we will send you an invoice outlining the fees due and our reproduction guidelines. All requests for fee waivers must be placed in writing. We accept payment by credit card in U.S. dollars and by money order or check drawn on a U.S. bank, payable to “Holocaust Museum Houston.” Fees are nonrefundable, and permission is granted for one edition, one use only.
Use
In return for the use-fee payment, HMH grants approval only to the extent of its rights relating to the request. Certain works of art, as well as photographs of those works, may be protected by copyright, trademark or related interests not owned by HMH. The responsibility for securing any other necessary permission devolves to the applicant.
