2018 Guardian of the Human Spirit Luncheon

The 2018 Guardian of the Human Spirit Luncheon honored the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and Aggie Liberators of WWII.

Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH) honored the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets and Aggie Liberators of World War II with the 2018 Guardian of the Human Spirit Award for their commitment to service and building an open-minded society.

The Texas A&M University Corps of Cadets sent 20,229 Aggies to serve in WWII, generating seven Congressional Medal of Honor recipients. The Museum recognized the values Aggie Corps members demonstrated then and now: leadership, service and integrity; and honored Corps of Cadets liberators of WWII who witnessed unspeakable atrocities while displaying courage and compassion. These qualities reveal an individual’s responsibility for the collective actions of society and align with the values of HMH. The Texas A&M Corps of Cadets have inspired tomorrow’s leaders to serve our state and our nation since 1876. This combined human impact exemplifies what it means to be a Guardian of the Human Spirit.
