Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10 – the day in 1948 the United Nations General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The atrocities of the Holocaust spurred the modern-day human rights movement, including the creation of the UDHR. The Museum commemorates this day each year with free admission.

In addition to free admission on Tuesday, December 10, Holocaust Museum Houston will celebrate the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights with free admission, featured human rights organizations, tours in English and Spanish, and a Holocaust Survivor Talk on Saturday, December 14.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day

The United Nations General Assembly designated January 27 – the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau – as International Holocaust Remembrance Day. HMH will commemorate and honor the six million Jews and other innocent victims of the Holocaust with free admission on Tuesday, January 27.
