In honor of the 20th anniversary of 9/11 and determined to continue highlighting the diversity of the Latinx and its stories, TEATRX presents a touring production of “Sonia Flew,” a play by Melinda Lopez.

When war intrudes on her family following 9/11, Sonia, a Cuban immigrant raising two children with her Jewish husband in Minneapolis, must reconcile with her childhood stories of Operation Pedro Pan, a political maneuver that separated her and thousands of other Cuban children from their parents.

This project is funded in part by Midtown Cultural Arts and Entertainment District and in partnership with Holocaust Museum Houston and MECA.

This event will be hosted in person. Admission is free and open to the public.
