This exhibit features letters, documents, and photographs from the collection of Leona Zagraniczna Trachtenberg. Leona left Poland in 1938, but the rest of her family never escaped and found themselves trapped following the German invasion of Poland in 1939. The collection features the letters Leona received from her mother and sisters describing life in the Warsaw Ghetto. They were all either murdered or died from disease and starvation in the Ghetto.
