Holocaust Museum Houston is thrilled to host our second annual Latinx Heritage Month – Community Building Day event. As a free day for families and community members, this event celebrates Latinx Heritage Month by uplifting the history and culture of Houston’s Latinx community while highlighting the interconnections between the Jewish and Latinx community. In the spirit of community building, this event brings together Houston’s diverse community as we work together to promote an inclusive and civically engaged society.
The event will feature information about local community organizations serving the Jewish and Latinx community, bilingual (English/Spanish) tours of our Holocaust gallery, a Holocaust and 3G survivor talk, family activities, and special performances.
Schedule:
- 11 AM – Docent guided tour of the Holocaust gallery (English)
- 11 AM – Segundo Barrio Children’s Chorus
- 12 PM – Docent guided tour of the Holocaust gallery (Spanish)
- 1 PM – Docent guided tour of the Holocaust gallery (English)
- 1 PM – 3 PM – Survivor Table Talk featuring Pauline Rubin
- 2 PM – Docent guided tour of the Holocaust gallery (English)
- 2:30 PM – Docent guided tour of the Holocaust gallery (Spanish)
- 3 PM – 3rd generation Holocaust survivor presentation featuring Margo Aaron (presented in English with simultaneous interpretation services available in Spanish)
