Inscribing the Truth

On view through Dec. 12, 2005 is “Inscribing the Truth,” a collection of images and artifacts compiled by J. Emory “Tex” Barton, a War Department employee who worked as chief reporter (verbatim shorthand reporter) and was the only Texan involved in the Nuremberg war crimes trials held at Dachau, Germany.

An American military tribunal oversaw the prosecution of German soldiers who participated in the murders of more than 800 American prisoners of war and 100 Belgian civilians.
