Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10— the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a milestone document that proclaims the inalienable rights which everyone is entitled to as a human being – regardless of race, color, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status.
On Human Rights Day, we acknowledge the importance of this document and the importance of human rights. In partnership with Perry Homes Foundation, Holocaust Museum Houston invites you to celebrate Human Rights Day with free admission, bilingual story time, guest speakers, and special performances.
Thanks to the generosity of Perry Homes Foundation, free admission includes access to HMH’s Holocaust, Human Rights, Diaries and Samuel Bak galleries along with entry to the featured exhibitions, HOPE: Stories of Houston Survivors.
