Unos 40,000 jud\u00edos, que constitu\u00edan una tercera parte de la poblaci\u00f3n de la ciudad, viv\u00edan en Checoslovaquia justo antes de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Hoy d\u00eda viven ah\u00ed poco menos de 100 jud\u00edos. <\/p>\n<p>En 2004, una exposici\u00f3n montada en Checoslovaquia relataba la vitalidad y las contribuciones de la alguna vez vibrante comunidad jud\u00eda, con m\u00e1s de 300 art\u00edculos provenientes de los archivos de la ciudad, la colecci\u00f3n del Instituto Hist\u00f3rico Jud\u00edo en Varsovia y de colecciones privadas.<\/p>\n<p>La exposici\u00f3n comienza con un vibrante retrato de la comunidad jud\u00eda desde el siglo 17 hasta principio de 1900, seguido de un relato de su casi extinci\u00f3n durante el Holocausto y la vida despu\u00e9s de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Las experiencias de los jud\u00edos de Checoslovaquia y de sus vecinos cristianos est\u00e1n ilustradas con agudeza por medio de 348 fotograf\u00edas, mapas, artefactos y videos bibliogr\u00e1ficos.<\/p>\n<p>Esta exposici\u00f3n es patrocinada por Sigmund A.
