Esta exposici\u00f3n \u00fanica presenta varios artefactos aut\u00e9nticos del Holocausto que nunca se han exhibido en los Estados Unidos.<\/p>\n<p>La exhibici\u00f3n es una muestra de la colecci\u00f3n m\u00e1s grande de Charlton E. Meyer Jr. y Gloria B. Meyer del Museo del Holocausto de Houston. Meyer, un numism\u00e1tico y coleccionista de Shreveport, Louisiana, ha estado acumulando pagar\u00e9s de campos y guetos desde los a\u00f1os 1980. En 2002, don\u00f3 m\u00e1s de 400 piezas al museo. Aunque la colecci\u00f3n completa est\u00e1 disponible en los archivos del MHH, la exposici\u00f3n se centra en 85 de los artefactos m\u00e1s interesantes y extravagantes. Cada pieza en la exposici\u00f3n es \u00fanica en cuanto a que representa el campo de concentraci\u00f3n o gueto donde fue emitida.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEsta es la colecci\u00f3n m\u00e1s completa de pagar\u00e9s del Holocausto que existe en los Estados Unidos\u201d, afirm\u00f3 Collin Keel, director de exposiciones transitorias del museo. \u201cAlgunos de los artefactos de la colecci\u00f3n son extremadamente raros, y una pieza en particular, del campo Natzweiler en Francia, es la \u00fanica pieza conocida en el mundo\u201d. Junto con el pagar\u00e9 de Natzweiler, artefactos de Dachau, Ravensbr\u00fcck y el gueto de Sokolka son considerados las piezas m\u00e1s raras en la colecci\u00f3n. El pagar\u00e9 de Dachau es inusual ya que tiene espacios para hacer notas a mano. Tanto los n\u00fameros de prisionero como la fecha de emisi\u00f3n sol\u00edan escribirse a mano, haciendo cada pieza de este pagar\u00e9 \u00fanico y extremadamente raro.<\/p>\n<p>La colecci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n contiene dos de los tres tipos de pagar\u00e9s emitidos en Ravensbr\u00fcck, el notorio campo de concentraci\u00f3n nazi para mujeres. La primera emisi\u00f3n fue el pagar\u00e9 Ravensbr\u00fcck Canteen, el cual era usado como un cup\u00f3n, y la segunda emisi\u00f3n fue hecha de notas de cart\u00f3n de calidad con dos tipos de sobresello, el tradicional ovalado con el \u00e1guila nazi y el sobresello triangular.<\/p>\n<p>El pagar\u00e9 m\u00e1s raro de la exposici\u00f3n es una pieza sola de Natzweiler. Redescubierto en una antigua colecci\u00f3n en 1993, es el \u00fanico pagar\u00e9 conocido de este campo que existe en la actualidad. Tiene el sello de validaci\u00f3n de la Waffen SS y se cree que es una muestra reservada para los registros del campo debido a un orificio en la nota. El pagar\u00e9 del gueto de Sokolka, con la inusual denominaci\u00f3n de 0.91 marcas, es tambi\u00e9n extremadamente raro.
