Mariette Job<\/p>\n<p>Del diario personal escrito por H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Berr, la exposici\u00f3n cuenta la historia de una joven francesa jud\u00eda, cuyo prometedor futuro fue brutalmente interrumpido por las leyes del Gobierno de Vichy y el plan de exterminio jud\u00edo. Estudiante de Literatura Inglesa en la Universidad de la Sorbona, H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Berr ten\u00eda 21 a\u00f1os cuando comenz\u00f3 su diario. La historia sigue sus pasos hasta Par\u00eds bajo ocupaci\u00f3n alemana, destacando sus experiencias diarias y la insoportable oscilaci\u00f3n entre la esperanza y la falta de esperanza, hasta su arresto y deportaci\u00f3n a Auschwitz en 1944. Muri\u00f3 en Bergen Belsen d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de la liberaci\u00f3n del campo en 1945; ejemplificado por las l\u00edneas finales de su diario \u201c\u00a1Horror! \u00a1Horror! \u00a1Horror!\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Por medio de fotograf\u00edas, archivos, pel\u00edculas, animaciones y mapas interactivos, la muestra describe el impacto que tuvieron las vidas diarias de los jud\u00edos por el antisemitismo y la violencia, y est\u00e1 dividida en tres partes: H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Berr, Vichy y las leyes antisemitas, y el diario. Tambi\u00e9n estar\u00e1 expuesta al p\u00fablico una versi\u00f3n digitalizada del diario que puede ser ojeada.<\/p>\n<p>El diario de H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Berr es un documento precioso que ofrece el testimonio presencial de la manera en que los jud\u00edos en Francia percibieron la persecuci\u00f3n nazi. Durante sesenta a\u00f1os el diario existi\u00f3 solo como una triste herencia familiar. En 2002, Mariette Job, sobrina de H\u00e9l\u00e8ne, lo llev\u00f3 al M\u00e9morial de la Shoah en Par\u00eds, creando con el tiempo esta exposici\u00f3n. H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Berr sirve como un s\u00edmbolo de la fuerza, la esperanza y el valor, como una mujer y escritora que ayud\u00f3 a otros y que se resisti\u00f3 a la derrota hasta su fin. As\u00ed es como se le recuerda, de sus \u00faltimos d\u00edas en el campo de concentraci\u00f3n, donde las j\u00f3venes escucharon sus palabras de \u00e1nimo, hablando de la vida antes de la deportaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La exposici\u00f3n fue dise\u00f1ada, creada y distribuida por el M\u00e9morial de la Shoah en Par\u00eds, Francia (conservadores Karen Taieb y Sophie Nagiscarde), con la direcci\u00f3n de Mariette Job, sobrina de H\u00e9l\u00e8ne Berr, y hecha realidad gracias al generoso patrocinio de SNCF.<\/p>\n<p>La nueva exposici\u00f3n se presentar\u00e1 hasta el 13 de noviembre de 2016, en la Galer\u00eda Central del museo en el Morgan Family Center, 5401 Caroline St., en el distrito de museos de Houston. Habr\u00e1 una recepci\u00f3n de preestreno abierta al p\u00fablico en general de 6 p. m. a 8 p. m. el jueves 25 de agosto de 2016, con discurso de apertura de Sujiro Seam, c\u00f3nsul general de Francia en Houston, y Jacques Fredj, director ejecutivo del M\u00e9morial de la Shoah, as\u00ed como una conferencia del Dr. Michael R.
