La exposici\u00f3n muestra el programa bracero, el programa de trabajadores invitados m\u00e1s grande en la historia de los EE. UU., que trajo al norte a millones de mexicanos para trabajar bajo contratos a corto plazo. El trabajo era agotador y las condiciones de vida eran precarias, pero el programa ofrec\u00eda a los hombres mexicanos oportunidades econ\u00f3micas y el muy necesario trabajo. Sus contribuciones a las comunidades en M\u00e9xico y en los Estados Unidos han tenido un impacto duradero en el panorama pol\u00edtico, econ\u00f3mico, social y cultural de ambas naciones.<\/p>\n<p>La explotaci\u00f3n de los trabajadores braceros y las violaciones a sus derechos legales y libertades civiles dieron lugar a acciones para revocar el programa. En 1956, el fot\u00f3grafo Leonard Nadel document\u00f3 las duras realidades de la vida del bracero, en su intento por sacar a relucir las violaciones de los empleadores y mejorar las condiciones laborales de los braceros. La exposici\u00f3n viaja por medio del Smithsonian Institution Traveling Exhibition Service y las im\u00e1genes de Nadel ofrecen los visuales para \u201cCosecha agridulce: el programa bracero de 1942 a 1964\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La nueva exposici\u00f3n se presentar\u00e1 hasta el domingo 14 de mayo de 2017, en la Galer\u00eda Central del museo del Morgan Family Center, 5401 Caroline St., en el Distrito de Museos de Houston.
