Houston nos sentimos profundamente honrados de que la Galer\u00eda y Centro de aprendizaje Samuel Bak sirva como una galer\u00eda internacional permanente para sus pinturas, obras que fueron donadas al museo directamente por el artista. El Centro de aprendizaje Bak ayudar\u00e1 a los visitantes a comprender el contenido de sus obras, as\u00ed como el intenso simbolismo usado en sus pinturas.<\/p>\n<p>Bak naci\u00f3 en Vilna, Polonia, en 1933. Su talento art\u00edstico fue reconocido por primera vez durante una exposici\u00f3n de su obra en el Gueto de Vilna a la edad de nueve a\u00f1os. Bak y su madre sobrevivieron el Holocausto gracias a los esfuerzos de su padre, su t\u00eda y una monja de la Orden Benedictina conocida como la hermana Mar\u00eda, quien aloj\u00f3 a Bak y a su madre en un convento de Vilna. Aunque Bak y su madre sobrevivieron, su padre y sus cuatro abuelos perecieron en manos de los nazis. Las experiencias de vida y muerte de Bak fueron las que inspiraron su prol\u00edfica colecci\u00f3n art\u00edstica.<\/p>\n<p>Los visitantes entrar\u00e1n en el centro de 1,923 pies cuadrados a trav\u00e9s de una antec\u00e1mara enfocada en la vida de Samuel Bak. La galer\u00eda misma es circular y est\u00e1 compuesta por tres acogedoras galer\u00edas con asientos y un centro educativo.
