Visitor Services Associate

Position Summary 
The Visitor Services Associate is the first responder to the visitor experience. The VSA offers a warm welcome & thorough assistance to ensure visitor satisfaction. The VSA is a multifaceted employee responsible for greeting & processing visitors at the admissions desk, assisting visitors in the museum store, and fielding any visitor questions in the galleries. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities  

•    Deliver exceptional customer service 
•    Engage visitors & fields questions regarding exhibition content 
•    Completes daily opening & closing procedures, accurately processes transactions, ensures register is balanced & maintains working knowledge of admissions software 
•    Maintain, operate & troubleshoot interactive digital media equipment including audio guides & devices 
•    Monitors activities within assigned post to prevent theft, damage or injury & ensure visitors adhere to museum guidelines 
•    Keep admission desk & galleries stocked with exhibition information & maintain interactive stations
•    Answers phone courteously & directs inquires appropriately 
•    Promotes on site membership sales 
•    Addresses visitor & member issues effectively 

Required Skills 

•    Maintains a courteous & helpful attitude at all time 
•    Experience with point of sales software, solid computer skills & IT proficiency 
•    Ability to learn quickly & problem solve efficiently 
•    Enthusiastic & responsive to visitors’ needs 
•    Fluent English proficiency 

Qualifications & Experience

•    High School Diploma
•    Ability to stand for extended periods of time
•    Can lift 50lbs 
•    Spanish Language skills a plus 
•    Minimum 18 years of age 
•    Interest in Holocaust History, Human Rights & Social Justice

Part-Time / 29 hours  (without benefits)
Reports to Visitor Services Supervisor 
Required to work evenings, weekends & public holidays
