Holocaust Museum Houston Calling for Artifact Donations for New Museum
Holocaust Museum Houston (HMH) is calling on the Houston community to donate artifacts from the Holocaust-era on Sunday, February 24, 2019, from noon-5 p.m. at 9220 Kirby Dr., Suite 100. With a major expansion of the Museum’s 5401 Caroline St. location under way, HMH is looking for documents, photographs or personal items to educate visitors on the dangers of hate, prejudice and apathy. Potential donors will meet with the Museum’s curators to discuss a possible artifact donation.

“Each item embodies a life story that remains to be told,” said HMH CEO Dr. Kelly J. Zúñiga. “It’s part of our mission to conserve these artifacts so that future generations can continue learn from them.”

Artifacts like Holocaust survivor Chaja Verveer’s baby dress provide an important glimpse into life before WWII. As time passes, these items are at risk of irreparable damage. Before they are lost forever, Holocaust Museum Houston calls on the public to donate these precious items so that they will be preserved for generations to come. The Museum is seeking materials reflecting two theme areas; Jewish life before, during and after WWII and the Holocaust and its aftermath.

The Museum’s Call for Artifacts will take place Sunday, February 24, 2019, from noon-5 p.m. at 9220 Kirby Dr., Suite 100. Registration is required and available online. If potential donors are not able to attend on February 24, 2019, they can email library@hmh.org.
