Rules of Conduct

Holocaust Museum Houston's community discussion groups are intended to allow our users and visitors a platform to access the global knowledgebank of other experts and educators in the Holocaust community. They are intended to be educational and informative, not commercial.

To ensure the best possible experience for each user, we have established these Rules of Conduct. Please read them carefully. Failure to comply may result in temporary or permanent suspension of your access privileges, at our sole discretion.

Holocaust Museum Houston cannot offer personal Internet, computer or technical support for use of these communities, nor can we guarantee the accuracy of the content provided by individual users. All information posted here is offered "as is," and users should use their own individual discretion. All users assume full risk and responsibility for any use of or reliance upon any material found or exchanged here.

We reserve the right to remove any content or user from these groups, although we have no duty to do so. When postings are deleted, it is generally because they have violated one or more of these Rules of Conduct.

Language:
These forums are for educational purposes. Absolutely no obscene, racist, prejudicial, offensive or sexually explicit language will be tolerated. Please avoid personal attacks, slurs or profanity. We take threats seriously. Comments that may be construed as such may be reported to the appropriate law enforcement authorities.

Relevance:
Please make certain your postings and replies are relevant to the subject of the topic in which you are posting. While it is normal for these conversations to evolve, we encourage you to keep your postings as close to the subject matter as possible to avoid deletion.

Advertising/Commercial Solicitation:
Solicitations, notices, promotional materials or advertisements for commercial products or services are not permitted. To maintain the integrity of our forums as educational vehicles, all such messages will be deleted. Links or mentions of other educational Holocaust-related Web sites will be allowed only when they are specifically related to the topic or discussion under way.

Sale of Goods or Services:
The offering of any goods or services of any kind for monetary gain is strictly prohibited.

Confidentiality:
Please keep in mind that our discussion groups are open to other users; thus, absolutely no personal information should be disclosed online. Credit card numbers, personal "key" codes, passwords, home or business addresses or other personal contact information should not be posted here. Choose your user name and password carefully.

Copyright:
You must have legal ownership of any material posted in these groups. All information, data, text, software, music, sound, photographs, graphics, video, messages or other materials that might be posted here is the sole responsibility of the person from whom such content originated. Each user is entirely responsible for any content they post. Under no circumstance will Holocaust Museum Houston be liable in any way for any content, errors or omissions in any content, or any loss incurred as a result of the use of any content posted or otherwise made available through this service. If You Believe

If you believe…
That a systematic destruction of a people should never happen…

If you believe…
That too many of our children are immersed in a culture of violence and intolerance…

If you believe…
That education is unique in its ability to transform ignorance into respect for those who are different…

If you believe…
That prejudice and hatred can be overcome…

If you believe…then act!
