Where Is My Family Curriculum Guide
Weight/Dimensions: 8/12 inch by 11 inch companion guide, 46 pages, spiral bound, copyright 2007
In the video "Where Is My Family" from Holocaust Museum Houston, Holocaust survivors and liberators who later made their homes in the Houston area tell their stories of those horrendous years in their own words. Survivors who appear in the film were children or young adults when the Holocaust occurred. Their perspective is one that upper elementary, middle and high school students will be able to relate to, enriching their understanding of these events.
This companion curriculum guide is suitable for grades five and higher. The guide contains biographical summaries of the survivors and liberators in the video, as well as maps so students can better understand the geographical scope of the Holocaust. Historical and thematic overviews are also included. The guide aligns with the film's five sections. The guide also contains suggested activities that support different learning styles.
